Books & Insight

A bookkeeper and a financial analyst. For the price of a bookkeeper.

Clean, current, CPA-ready books, plus a plain-English report every month that tells you what the numbers actually mean. One service, one price. Already have a bookkeeper you want to keep? Take the analysis on its own.

The report our clients get monthly, your first one free.

No obligation, and you stay in control: read-only access, we never touch your books.

Why this exists

Most bookkeeping ends at a clean ledger. A good bookkeeper records what happened and hands you statements, then leaves you to decode them on your own time. You know the books are done, but not what they are telling you about the business. Books & Insight closes that gap: we record it, and we tell you what it means.

Why it matters

You already make these calls. Right now you make them on feel.

Your books already hold the answers. They are just sitting there as rows nobody reads back to you. Every question below has a number behind it.

"Can I afford to hire?"

Your real margin, and how much cash is genuinely free once the commitments you have already made are counted.

"Which work is actually worth doing?"

Profit per client and per job, once every cost is counted, not just the ones that made it onto the invoice.

"Why is cash tight in a month that looked good?"

The gap between profit on paper and money in the bank, and exactly where it went.

"Is this a blip, or the start of something?"

The trend across months, so a slow slide shows up while it is still cheap to correct.

You can run on instinct for a long time. The catch is that you usually find out something was wrong months later, once it is expensive to fix. That is what the monthly report is for.

Two halves, one service

Everything a bookkeeper does, plus the analysis they never send.

Included, not billed on top. If you already have a bookkeeper, we can do the analysis half on their books instead.

The books, done right

The books, kept clean

  • Every transaction recorded and categorized
  • Bank and card reconciliations, monthly
  • Sales tax liability tracked
  • CPA-ready year-end package
  • Runs in QuickBooks Online, your books or ours
The insight

What your bookkeeper never sends

  • A plain-English monthly report you will actually read
  • The numbers that actually decide your business, not a chart dump
  • A short walkthrough of what changed and why
  • Analysis worked through for your business, never a generic template

Both halves, at the price of the books alone. That is the whole idea.

A glimpse of the format

The report is the product. Here's a glimpse of it.

A glimpse of the format, not the whole thing. You'll see a full example on our first call, and yours is built from your real numbers.

Inside: the KPIs, margins, and trends that matter for your business, in plain English, with a short walkthrough of what changed and why.

What it means

Margin is up on tighter subcontractor costs, but utilization is flat. The lever this quarter is billable hours, not price.

Subcontractor costs$41,200

How it works

Three steps, each earning the next.

01

Your first Insight Report

Read-only access to your books under a mutual NDA. We touch nothing. You get one month of your numbers explained: the KPIs, margins, and trends that matter, in plain English, with a short walkthrough of what changed and why. We also flag anything your books can’t show yet.

02

Cleanup, only if needed

If the books need work first, we quote it as a flat one-time project after your Insight Report, never a surprise. Clean books, then the monthly rhythm.

03

The monthly rhythm

We take the books over cleanly. Each month: books closed and reconciled, the report delivered, a short walkthrough of what it means.

Read-only first, a mutual NDA before any access, and no disruption to how you run today.

Drawn up front

What is included, and what is not.

Included in Books & Insight

What any good bookkeeper does

  • Every transaction recorded, categorized, and reconciled, monthly
  • AR and AP recorded, with aging
  • Payroll journal entries and sales tax liability
  • Monthly statements and a CPA-ready year-end package

And where a bookkeeper stops

  • The numbers that actually decide your business, tracked every month
  • Your real margin, with direct costs separated from overhead so the number means something
  • What changed since last month, and why
  • Trends and early warnings, not just this month in isolation
  • A plain-English write-up you can take straight into a decision
  • A short walkthrough, so you can ask "so what do I do about it?"

Handled elsewhere

  • Income tax filing, by your CPA (we hand them CPA-ready files)
  • Payroll processing, by your payroll provider
  • Active receivables follow-up, cash-flow forecasting, and the weekly action plan, by Cash Flow Control
  • Receipt collection: you upload, we categorize

Being explicit about the line is the point. You always know exactly where our work ends.

Who it is for

Businesses that already pay a bookkeeper and get no analysis.

US small businesses with real transaction volume. Common triggers: the bookkeeper quit, the bank asked for financials, or cash feels tight and the numbers do not explain why. Just as often there is nothing wrong at all: the books are filed on time and still leave you guessing at what your margins are doing, which jobs are worth taking, and whether this month is a blip. If you already pay someone to keep the books and still cannot answer that, the bookkeeping is not the gap. The reading of it is.

Why Nomeres

The real differentiator is honesty.

Read-only access until you decide to work with us, a mutual NDA before anything is shared, and we never move money. The trust is built in, not promised.

What comes next

Books & Insight tells you where you stand. Cash Flow Control acts on it.

When you are ready to act, Cash Flow Control chases what you are owed in your own voice, forecasts thirteen weeks of cash, and hands you a short weekly action plan. It sits on top of clean books, so it starts here.

Questions

The details, answered.

No. For the full service, we take the books over cleanly so the books and the analysis stay in one place. If you would rather keep your bookkeeper, we do the analysis on their books instead: the same monthly report and walkthrough, priced for the analysis alone. Switch bookkeeping off on the pricing page to see that range. Cash Flow Control works the same way, on your books or ours. Either way the books underneath have to be clean.

No. The numbers are calculated, but the analysis is worked through for your business and reviewed and edited by our team before it reaches you. A generic template would tell you nothing you could act on, which is the whole point of the report.

QuickBooks Online. If you are on something else, moving over is a one-time project we quote after your Insight Report.

It depends on the state of the books. The Insight Report tells us, and you, exactly what is involved before anything starts.

It is priced like a bookkeeper. See the pricing page for real ranges by size, and your exact number comes from your Insight Report.
